Thanks to Rebecca waking up early one cold Thursday morning, we were able to get tickets for the Sunday night of the Jingle Bell Ball to see 5 Seconds of Summer, Fuse ODG, Rixton, Sigma, Union J, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift perform.
The day came, and off we went on the tube to the O2 Arena worried about what was in store. In fact, we had nothing to worry about. The venue and event were really organised with no kerfuffle getting in (or out!) and we even had the chance to grab a glass of bubbly before the show.
We settled into our seats for the 9 stunning performances. Highlights for me were Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and of course- Taylor Swift!

After tonight, I was officially converted to Jessie J and may have developed a slight girl crush on her. Her voice was so powerful and she was such a great entertainer- I was in awe!

Although I am not an Ed Sheeran fanatic, I do enjoy a lot of his music and catch myself singing along to most of them when they’re on the radio. He really does sound exactly like, if not better than, his records and his voice was so crisp that you felt each word he was singing with his guitar.

I feel I need to explain myself. I am convinced that if Taylor Swift knew me, we would be the bestest of friends. I would make it happen. Anyway, I have loved Taylor Swift from the beginning and have enjoyed watching her change and develop as an artist. On Sunday, she sang her current hits ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Blank Space’, but even went back to where she started with a slow mix of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ with just her, her keyboard and four backing singers. Stunning.
Alas, it’s all over now and I cannot say how much I enjoyed the Jingle Bell Ball. I have always wanted to go to a Capital Ball, and now I’ve been lucky enough to go- I will definitely be keeping an eye out for future line-ups and hoping to bag myself another ticket!
Until next time x
