The day had finally come Thursday the 4th of June. The day we would get to go to The Graham Norton Show.
Making a day of it, I decided to take Mum to Afternoon Tea. Having looked online, I found the Park Plaza was located along the Embankment, was reasonably priced and was reviewed to have great views.
Walking down from Waterloo, the hotel was in a great position for the Embankment and sights like Big Ben and the London Eye.
The Afternoon Tea was based in the Primo Bar on the first floor of the hotel. Although the bar had a stylish nightclub-esque dark feeling to it, I was quite disappointed that the hotel did not take advantage of their front on view of Big Ben! Regardless, afternoon tea is afternoon tea and it was a right treat on a sunny Thursday afternoon!
After tucking into the delicious treats, we wandered down the Embankment and to the London Studios to get our PRIORITY TICKETS for Graham Norton Show.
The guests of the show were Samuel L. Jackson, Amy Schumer and Stephen Merchant with musical guest- Muse!
The tones of the show went by the usual promotional work. Samuel L. Jackson was talking about his charity, One for the Boys, Amy Schumer her film, Trainwreck and Stephen Merchant promoting his theatre debut called The Mentalists. However, the conversation often went off on tangents which were often rather sexual so it is beyond me how they are going to edit the video so that there is a structure as they were constantly referring to jokes from earlier, later on in conversations.
The show ended with Muse performing their song Mercy off their new album, Drones. I have never listened to many Muse songs and I’m not too sure that their music is my taste but I was so impressed with them. Their performance was on point, the special effects were impressive and the sound quality in the studio was so crisp.
As always, it was so interesting to see how the show got filmed with any retakes at the end and also the little snippet promos of Graham and also the start of the show where Graham comes out of the audience with snakes to make a joke of Samuel L. Jackson’s “Snakes on a plane”.
Thank you to SRO Audiences for the priority tickets, I had an incredible night and hope to go back again soon!
Tune in to watch Graham Norton and guests on Friday the 5th of June, 10:30pm on BBC One.
Until next time x
